#17: Update on film thingy

I have about 100 of these poses all for reference for the Animatic, since it has to be in more detail. I'm in the process of drawing over them and drawing more poses in between to make things more movie like.

Progress

Dathier's rough model is done. He has skin and joints as well but I need to go back and tweak those a bit to get a good pose for the animatic.

Concept and Premise

Concept: Even in the safest place, you cannot escape your fear.

Premise: Dathier, originally human, was cursed and turned into this rag doll form. He became weak, and afraid of the dark unknown. In order to become whole again, or human, Dathier will have to find the fairy of light that will use her magic to make him human again, but she has been kidnapped by the darkness, so it is up to Dathier to save her before the darkness harms her. Even though he doesn't exactly know where she is or where to start, the fairy uses her magic as best as she can to lead him to her, he will have to follow his heart and embrace the unknown to go in the right direction.

13A: Storyboard

#13B-2: Production Progress, Set and props

Yes, I have 3 different scenes, and maybe I will have to simplify but I really want to do these. Again I will not be animating in the future, so hopefully my designs (which I enjoy doing) are good.

My second scene is after Dathier falls through the trap door, he will appear here where he has to make a decision.

The final scene, after Dathier goes through the door straight ahead.

13B: Character model sheet and extras

Dathier and Fae
I know that we shouldn't have a second character... but I really can't avoid it for this story. The fairy is my secondary character. She will have maybe 3-4 movements, so not that much. The simple character, Dathier is my main character where most of the animation will occur. He is also very simple as far as rigging, so he should be built and rigged fairly fast. I tried to make these character sheets as "professional" as I could, considering that this is more of what I want to focus on. I have realized my passion is more for the production, and layout rather than the modeling, rigging, and animation. So I will not be taking the next character animation class. Yes, I know there are probably some more production lessons in the next class, but I feel like I need to move on and practice the things I learned in this class, and keep enhancing this skill, rather than worrying about animating (honestly it frustrates me, and I do not wish to be forced into something I am not 100% happy about/good at). Anyway, here are my character action sheets, facial, model sheets, color options, wing options, final character designs complete with color, and the scale sheet to give you an idea for how big the characters are compared to each other.
